A Bit About Billy:
“I’m the middle child of 3 kids, I have an older sister Cora and a younger brother Tyson. I am in Grade 10 at Everest Academy.”
Why did you pick hockey?
“I didn’t really pick hockey, hockey picked me. I was always around the rink as a baby so it was just something I started doing for as long as I can remember.”

Who is the biggest part in helping you make it this far?
“I would definitely say my dad. He does everything for me, he drives me everywhere. He taught me everything I know. He always pushes me to work harder, and he drives me to want to do better. He wants me to succeed.”
Typical Days Schedule:
“On the ice at 8:30 a.m, then I have school until 3:20. After that, off ice work out, followed by a game or practise.”
Meal prep/menu:
“Eggs and oatmeal, pasta with salad and chicken, salmon or lean meat with green vegetables and some quinoa or rice.”
Workout Routine/ Schedule:
“3 to 5 days per week, depending on game schedule.”
Hockey Schedule (for the week):
“Practise 3 to 5 times depending on game schedule.”

Parent’s Role
What is your role in yours son’s hockey life?
“Well I play many roles, I train him on the ice in addition to his regular team practices, I also drive him to games and practices. We also talk strategies and things he is doing well and areas he needs to improve on to help guide his progression. His mom takes care of the meals and equipment being clean etc. The whole family is part of the team you could say.”
When did you know your son would make something of the sport?
“That is hard to say. He was always a strong player, but every year he has just continued to work hard and has continued to improve. So I can’t really give an exact time frame but he showed signs at a very young age. This was something he was really dedicated too and wanted to always play at high levels.”
