We all remember the surge of the Blue Jays fanbase….
Now, the world is seeing the uprising of Leafs Nation once again. After all of the turmoil of last season, Toronto Maple Leafs fans were unsure of how their centennial season was going to go. They received the first overall draft pick after finishing last in the league last season. Would Auston Matthews be their saviour?
The 100th season started off pretty well for the Leafs and their fans. With Auston Matthews’ four-goal first game of the season, the fans had something to look forward to. The young guys were carrying the team and igniting the fire in the fan base. With the young guys and new management and coaching, fans had hope for the future of this franchise.
The city is buzzing with excitement over the potential of this team. The Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square gets lit up blue and white each night in support of the team. When walking through the city on game day, those two colours are a common sight among the people walking around. The team hasn’t won a championship since 1967 and to many, this season is a step in the right direction. The excitement has just begun and fans are hopeful that there’s more to come.

Cody has been a fan of the Leafs for just about as long as he’s been alive. He frequently attends the games of both the Leafs and their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. He’s excited about the new look of the team this season and to see what the young guys have up their sleeves. |
Alissa only started really getting into the Leafs recently. She has turned into a “superfan” of the team and goes to as many games as she can. She has met a few players on the team and describes those experiences as some of the greatest days of her life. |
