Pop Culture… Cubed

Located in the The Distillery District, Cube Works studio is renowned for their artwork featuring Rubik’s cubes. They also work with tangible objects such as dice, Lego, spools of sewing thread, crayons and mixed media on air-brushed aluminum panels.

The studio is a venture by Creative Director, Josh Chalom, and his design team. Their subject matter varies from iconic images of celebrities, musicians, politicians and even recreations of famous classic artwork like Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” Chalom says his artwork “generally evokes a sense of nostalgia from the viewer.” Everyone can remember playing with a Rubik’s cube at least once in their life.
