Q: Do drag queens refer to themselves as male or female?

A: While in drag, drag queens refer to themselves as females as they are putting on a female persona. There are also some queens that identify with being a female in general, whether they are transgendered or transsexual.

Q: What happens to their “junk”?

A: Drag queens make their junk disappear by using a technique called “tucking.” Tucking is the act of a man placing his penis back through his legs in order to achieve the look of female genitalia. Tucking is usually done with the use of tight-fitting underwear, tape, or other various methods. To learn more about tucking check out the video below:

Q: How do they achieve breasts?

A: There are multiple ways that drag queens can achieve breasts or cleavage. The most common way is by using foam padding, a silicon breast plate or through the use of makeup contouring. Though there are some drag queens that use other methods that incorporate bras and tape. And yes – some drag queens do have real breasts.

Q: Are all drag queens gay?

A: Despite what many people think not all drag queens are gay. There is a small majority of drag queens that are heterosexual and do drag simply because they like to perform, after all, drag is an art form.

Q: Are there drag queen schools?

A: In a sense, yes. Some former drag queens offer courses and makeup classes for those starting out in drag, or for those who would like to know more about becoming a successful drag queen.

Fish(y): a drag queen that looks very feminine in appearance, resembling a biological woman

Booger: an unattractive drag queen, one who cannot apply makeup, style their hair, and usually dresses in unfashionable clothing

Hunty: a term of endearment, combines the words “honey” and the “c-word”

Yaaaaaaas: a term of excitement, a drag queen’s way of saying “yes!”
