Gagan Majathia is a 4th year business student at the University of Ryerson with a great passion for entrepreneurialism. Gagan was born in Solan India, and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was a child. At a young age, he was always ambitious and had a distinctive interest in the business world. Much of his business knowledge came from his father, the largest share holder and C-E-O of Himachal Drugs and Pharmaceutical Labs (HDPL) in India. When Gagan’s family moved to Canada his father owned and operated various gas stations. Gagan spent time learning how to properly run a successful organization and business fundamentals. He carried this knowledge over to Ryerson University where he is currently works for the Ryerson Angel Network.
SIFE: A HEAD FOR BUSINESS, A HEART FOR THE WORLD.
In the summer of 2011, students from Ryerson University and SIFE traveled to Dago, Kenya to assess the different needs of the village. During their visit to the community, they set up solar panels to light up the local orphanage, and educated the citizens on how to successfully manage loans and business concepts.
